ORDINANCE NO. 777917 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $158,478. 00 AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of Community Development Block Grant Funds and that the immediate needs of specific activities are met, additional appropriations among accounts are necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I. The sum of $158,478. 00 is hereby appropriated and allocated among accounts as set forth below. The appropriation will accomplish the following: 1 . When preparing the 1987 CDBG application, we reprogrammed $13 ,000 from the Redevelopment Administration account in anticipaton of an excess . The excess did not occur and $10 , 078 is needed to replenish the account. 2. Increase the Bureau of Housing administrative budget to cover the costs of establishing the Housing Development Corporation and purchase computer equipment. 3. Provide additional funds for the LaSalle-Fillmore and Northeast Neighborhood Centers . 4 . Provide funds for administrative costs of the Neighborhood Business Development Corporation. 5 . Allow funds for planning activities associated with the West Washington area. Allocate the proceeds of NHS's latest house sale for additional acquisition/rehab activity. This arrangement was made during Council review of the 1987 CDBG application. 7. Allows additional funding for our financially strapped public service projects. These agencies have suffered sharp cuts in recent years from many of their funding sources.
