The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present.
Bond of Hoban & Roach filed and approved for DeMaude avenue & Woodward avenue
Pipe sewer and Robertson street pipe sewer. -Contracts were signed for same.
Petition filed for Pipe Sewer on Diamond avenue from Michigan avenue to Van Buren
street. Referred to the Engineer for specifications.
Petition filed for the opening of a 12 foot alley begining at the private alley
at the South east corner of lots 22 and 23 in Sorin's addition and running North to Corby
The Engineer filed assessment rolls and final estimates for the following improve-
ments, to -wit.
Pipe Sewer. on Birdsell street from Washington'street to Linden avenue,
Brick pavement on Vistula avenue from Miami street to Leer street all under improvement
resolutions Nos. 190, 197 respectibely.
Resolved that notices as to the amount of assessments be published for six consec-
utive days in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune commencing on
the 2 day of November 19042 stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount
Of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 15 day of November 1904
at 7:15 P. M.
Resolved further that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and app-
roved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be
published on the 2 day of November 1904, in the South Bend Daily Times and the South
Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing upon the acceptance
Of such work at it s office in the City Hall on the 15th day of November 1904
at 7:15 P. M.

The Board met in Special session at 7:15 P. M. Mr. Papczynski absent.
Hearing given on Declaretory resolution for Sidewalks on the east side of Lawrence
street from Howard street to Napoleon street under Impr Resolution No. 226.
Engineer filed his estimated cost as follows.
Lawrence street sidewalks ................ $693.0o
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board
therefore find in each and every case in said Improvement that the benefits to the
property and to the City of. South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said
improvements and that -the said Declaretory resolution is hereby in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved.

Wednesday November 2i 1904.
The Board met in'regua:lar session at 10 A. M. Mr. Papezynski absent.
Wilbert ward given permission to lay a private water main on Oak Park court
without expense to the City of South Bend, Ind.
Chief of Police instructed to order the removal of all obstructions in
Jefferson street between Vistula avenue and the river front.
Bids were opened and referred to the Engineer for tabulation -for sidewalks
on the east side of Lawrence street from Howard street to Napoleon street.
Contract was awarded to M. S. Rogers for Lawrence street sidewalks.
The Board having under discussion the matter of the awards of:-dammages and the
assessments of benefits on the condemnation proceedings on Vistula avenue under con@
demnation resolution No. 15. The board being advised in the matter find that in the
case of the property owned by Arthur Ben-zedy, Indiana Railway Company, Dr. A. G.
Miller, Grace Hunt and Wilbur Denslow and Thomas J. Coffeen, respectively the
benefits and damages caused by said appropriation are equal.
In the case of the property owned by Theresa Hertram the Board find
that the damages to said property caused by said appropriation exceed the benefits
in the amount of $300.00 and she is hereby awarded damages in that amount. The
Board thereofore direct the preparation of an assessment roll,- properly.
describing the lands affected and showing the above a-vmrds and the serving with
notice of all of said property onners according to law, stating that this Board will
give a hearing on said assessment roll at its office -in the City Hall on the
15th day of November 1904, at 7:15 P. M.

The Engineer filed assessment rolls and final estimates for the following
Improvements; -
Grade curb and walk on Jackson Street from Division Street to Ford Street.
Grade curb and walk on Pulaski Street from Division Street to Ford Street.
Cement curb on Harris and Sample Street from Ford Street to Union Street; All under Improve-
ment Resolutions No. 200, 203 and 2042 respectively.
Resolved that notices as to the amount of assessment be published for six consecu-
tive days in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the
loth day of November, 19042 stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount
of such assessment at its office in the City Hall on the 22nd day of November, 1904, at
7 :15 P . M.
Resolved further that the entire workunder the above contracts to be accepted -
and approved and the final estimates thereon be allowed; notice of this resolLution shall be
published on the loth day of November, 1904, in the South Bend Daily Times and the South

light. Clerk was instructed to notify South Bend Electric Company to install same.

The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present.
The Board having under consideration the awards of dtumages and assessments
of benefits in the matter of condemnation resolution No. 15. Theresa Hertram
filed remonstrance and appears in person and by F. M. Jackson Attorney to remonstrate
against the amount of her awards. The Board being.a fully advised in the matter and
having heard the remarks of t e'o jeeting party, it is resolved. that said assessment
roll adopted on the 2 day of 1904, be and the same is hereby in all things
approved, adopted and confirmed.
Bond of M. S. Rogers filed and approved for walks on Lawrencestreet.
Contract was signed with M. S.. Rogers for same.

TUESDAY EVENING NOVEMBER 15TH2 1904, AT 7:15 P.M. SPECIAL MEETING.
The Board met in special session at 7:15 P. M. Mr. McInerny absent.
Hearing was given on assessment rolls and final estimates for the
following improvements, to -wit;-- Pipe Sewer on Birdsell street from Washington
street to Linden avenue and Brick pavement on Vistula avenue from Miami street to
Leer street under improvement resolution Nos. 199 and 190 respectively.
No remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore
find that the property assessed in said rolls filed November 1st, 1904 is
benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls and the Board of
Public Works find that the assessment rolls filed November 1st, 1904 and the
final estimate allowed November 1st, 1904 should be and the same is hereby
in all things ratified confirmed and approved.

avenue sidewalks.

The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. Mr. McInerny absent
Street Commissioner was instructed to clean the sand off the curbing on
Frances 'street from Colfax avenue to LaSalle avenue.
Street commissioner was instructed to make the necessary fill at the McCartney
Culvert on Portage avenue in compliance with the request of the County Vommissioners.

Petition filed for an electric light on LaPorte avenue between Washington
street and Colfax avenue
The A. H, Adnrews Co of Chicago, Ills were notified to repair the defective
furniture in the City Hall as per their contract and Bond filed November 25th, 1902.

The Board met in special session at 7:15 P. M. mr. McInerny absent.
Hearing given on assessment rolls and final estimates for the following improve-
ments, to -wit; -
Harris and Sample streets Curbs, Pulaski street Grade, Curb & Walk,
Jackson street Grade, Curb & Walk all under Improvement Res. Nos 200, 203,204 Resp.
No remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed The Board therefore find
that the property assessed in said rolls filed November 9th, 1904 Is benefitted in the
amount of assessments as shown on said rolls and the Board of Public Works find that
the assessment rolls filed November 9th, 1904 and the final estimate allowed November
9th2 1904, should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and
approved.

Water Connections on Napier street from Chapin street to Walnut street,,
Brick Pavement on Napier street from Chapin street to Walnut street, Pipe sewer
on RobertBon street from Prairie avenue to alley east of Chapin street all under
improvement resolutions Nos. 209, 224 respectively.
Resolved that notices as to the amount of assessments be published for six
consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily
Tribune commencing on the 25th day of November 1904, stating that this Board will
give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall
on the 6th day of December 1904, at 7:15 P. M.
Resolved Further that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted
and 6pproved and the final estimates thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution
shall be published on the 25th day of November 1904 in the South Bend Daily Times
