MICHIGAN STREET IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I. Ordinance No. 4990-68 , as amended, which ordinance is commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be and the same hereby is amended in order that the zoning classification of the following described real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana: Lots 96 - 100 and fifteen (15) feet taken off and from the South side of Lot 101, David Garst 's First Addition to the City . of South Bend be and the same is hereby established as "B" Residence District "F" height and area. Michigan, City of South Bend - APC #1181-88 Gentlemen: The above referenced ordinance initiated by Councilman Thomas Zakrzewski was legally advertised July 7 and July 9, 1988. The Area Plan Commission gave it a public hearing on July 19, 1988 at which time the following action was taken: Upon a motion by Chuck Sausman, being seconded by John DeLee, and unanimously carried, the proposed ordinance initiated by Councilman Thomas Zakrzewski to zone from "C" Commercial, "F" Height and Area to "B" Residential, "F" Height and Area, property located at 805 S. Michigan Street, City of South Bend is sent to the Common Council with a favorable recommendation, as tendered PLEASE NOTE that the Ordinance has been amended by the petitioner to include a legal description different than that used for the Common Council's first reading. The amended Ordinance was the Ordinance legally advertised and heard by the Area Plan Commission. Michigan City of South Bend REQUESTED ACTION: The petitioner is requesting a zone change from "C" Commercial , "F" Height and Area to "8" Residential , "F" Height and Area to allow the property to be used for a lodging house and professional offices. EXISTING LAND USE: The property contains a vacant building. SURROUNDING LAND USE AND ZONING: Located to the north is vacant land zoned "C" Commercial ; to the east across Michigan Street are commercial uses zoned "C" Commercial ; to the south is a tavern zoned "C" Commercial ; to the west is a manufacturing facility and a former hotel zoned "E" Heavy Industrial .
