Economy & Construction Data Overview •Local Economy •National Construction Outlook SBStat 2021 A lookback at the local economy in 2020 Accommodation & Food Service was hit hardest •South Bend MSA's accommodation & food services GDP is expected to shrink by 7.7% between 2019Q4 and 2020Q4. This compares with a 8.1% fall across the US and 7.4% in Indiana. •South Bend MSA's accommodation & food services employment is expected to shrink by 11.6% (2,000 jobs) over the same period. This compares with a 11.7% fall across the US and 11.4% in Indiana. The largest segment –power generation –is set to experience the fastest growth, with changes in policy offering additional upside risk.
