26 of the St. Joseph County Code.
The issuance of this certificate does NOT in any manner, release
the recipient from the responsibility of complying with the requirements
of the zoning ordinances, building codes, safety codes, ADA or other
requirements of the City of South Bend, the County of St. Joseph, the
State of Indiana, or the United States Federal Government.
This certificate is good for one year from the date of issuance and
is effective from the date entered herein. Plans are on file and open for
public inspection at the office of the Historic Preservation Commission of

Removal of non-historical, exterior storm windows located on three, south-facing windows on rear of the west-wing room in the Bendix Woods County Park Nature Center.

Written Description:
Existing storm windows are double-paned with an aluminum frame and are attached to
the wooden frame of the exterior windows. The condition of the storm windows can be
described as damaged, scratched, and cloudy due to their old age and weathering over time.
The central window is also missing its screen.
Overview of Project:
Our plan is to remove the three storm windows located on the first floor, rear of the
building. With the current windows in good, working condition, there is not a need to put storm
windows back on. The storm windows are being removed to allow a clear view from the inside
of the building looking out from a new nature display area being constructed inside the nature
center.
*Picture shows the rear view of the Nature Center. The three, blue-highlighted
windows will have the storm windows removed. Current center storm window
is missing its screen. Dimensions are the black numbers, listed in inches.
These windows are not visible from the front of the building. Once storm
windows are removed existing windows will be caulked and painted.
