RE: Renewal of Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit
Dear Board Members:
The Division of Environmental Services recommends approving the renewal of the Industrial Discharge Permit for ITU
AbsorbTech, Inc (AbsorbTech), at the March 23,d, 2021 Board of Public Works Meeting.
AbsorbTech is classified as an Industrial User (IU) facility. AbsorbTech has a low discharge flow volume and no
analytical monitoring requirements. AbsorbTech's requirements were reviewed for necessary changes to ensure the
industry permit remains legally substantiated. After review of requirements, historical data, pollutant limitations, and Best
Management Practice reports no permit changes were deemed necessary.
If you should have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at (574) 235-5798, or at sshane@southbendin.gov.
Please let me know if I need to attend the Board Meeting to present this permit.
Sincerely,
Serena Lozano -Shane
