SUBJECT: Michigan Road Historic Byway Signs
DATE: March 16, 2021
The City has been requested by the Indiana Landmarks Association to erect signs along
the Michigan Road Byway route within the City limits.
The following locations will have the signs installed:
Kern Rd and Michigan St – 2 signs
Michigan St and Western Ave – 4 signs
Michigan St at Washington St intersection - 2 signs
Washington St at Lafayette Blvd intersection - 2 signs
Lafayette Blvd at LaSalle Ave intersection - 2 signs
LaSalle Ave and Lincolnway
The Engineering Division is requesting permission and approval to have the Michigan
Byway signs signs installed along the route. The signs will be installed on the same
post as the Lincoln Highway signs where applicable. The Indiana Landmarks
Association will furnish the signs and the City will install.

2) MR sign with right arrow for merge from Kern to US 31 north
3) MR sign with left arrow for merge from US 31 east onto Kern
4) MR sign with right arrow at Kern turning south onto Michigan
5) MR sign using LH left arrow at Michigan turning west onto Western
6) MR sign using LH right arrow at Western turning north onto Michigan
7) MR sign using LH left arrow at Michigan turning east onto Western
8) MR sign using LH right arrow at Western turning south onto Michigan
9) MR sign using LH left arrow at Michigan turning west onto Washington
10) MR sign using LH right arrow at Washington turning north onto Lafayette
