GAMMON Approved and signed by me I g o Mayor ORDINANCE NO. 7866-88 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE AND ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR SERVICES RENDERED BY THE SOUTH BEND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The Common Council of the City of South Bend last established a schedule of rates and charges for services rendered by the Wastewater Treatment Plant of the City of South Bend by Ordinance No. 7728-87 , which was adopted on February 9, 1987. The Council now finds that in order to meet the financial requirements of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, it is necessary that the rates and charges for the services be raised and established as set forth below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. Chapter 17 , Article 5, Section 17-47 . 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, shall be amended in its entirety to read as follows: (a) The water usage schedule on which the amounts of sewage rates and charges shall be determined from February-1;-1987 May 15, 1988 and thereafter shall be as follows: Rate per 100 Cubic Feet Quantity of Water Used Per Month per Month First 500 cubic feet 1 716 1. 58 From 501 to 2,000 cubic feet :89 1. 21 From 2,001 to 4,500 cubic feet 775 1 .02 From 4, 501 to 12,000 cubic feet 768 . 82 From 12,001 to 30,000 cubic feet 757 .78 From 30,001 to 50,000 cubic feet :49 . 67 From 50,001 to 100 ,000 cubic feet :48 . 54 From 100,001 to 500,000 cubic feet 736 . 49 From 500 ,001 to 1,000,000 cubic feet 729 . 39 Over 1,000 ,000 cubic feet 721 . 29 (b) The above rates and charges are in addition to water rates and charges and the minimum charge per month for each bill from eeteber-1;-1988 May 15, 1988, and thereafter shall be five-dollars ard-eighty-eents-+$5 788} seven dollars and ninety (7.90) . (c) The Common Council shall review on a regular basis all rates and charges established pursuant to this Article. Said review shall be conducted at least every four ( 4) years, beginning with four ( 4) years from the effective date of this subsection ordinance. The Director of Public Works shall file all pertinent data needed by the Council, on or before June 1st of the year in which the rates and charges shall be reviewed. • SECTION II . This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and legal publication.
