AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONIES FROM VARIOUS
ACCOUNTS TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE VARIOUS
DEPARTMENTS WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR 1988.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Unforseen conditions have developed since the adoption of
existing budgets and previous June budget adjustments which
necessitate the transfer of funds to certain accounts of various
departments from adequate surpluses which are available and not
presently needed within other accounts within the same department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
Section I : That the following accounts be adjusted as
described below:
GENERAL FUND
Mayor
Decrease the following account:
4110. 0 Salaries & Wages-Regular $ 10,374.00
Controller '
Increase the following accounts:.
4110. 0 Salaries & Wages-Regular $ 28,140.00
4399. 0 Other Contractuals 8,401 . 00
Decrease the following account:
4312.0 Data Processing $ 5,000. 00
City Attorney
Decrease the following account:
4110.0 Salaries & Wages-Regular $ 17,766. 00
Engineering
Decrease the following account:
4110.0 Salaries & Wages-Regular $ 3,401.00

Section II. The above ordinance makes budget increases and
decreases each amounting to $36,541.00.
Section III . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.

Dear President Voorde:
The enclosed ordinance is a substitute for Bill No. 21-88 titled
An Ordinance Transferring Monies from Various Accounts to Various
Accounts within the Various Departments within the General Fund of
the City of South Bend, IN for the Year 1988.
The total amount of money transferred between various accounts
and various departments remains the same. The change is the addition
of the $8, 401. 00 dollars increase in the 4399. 0, other contractuals
line item in the Controller' s budget.
I ' ll be happy to discuss this ordinance 'at the Council meeting on
Monday.
