SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
January 19, 2021, 10:00 AM

Members present: Toy Villa, Darwin Shipley, Jonathan Jones
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 10:06 AM by committee member Villa.
2. Approval of minutes
Upon a motion by Villa and seconded by Shipley the minutes from the previous meeting
January 5th was approved unanimously
3. Approval of Special Event Permits
a. Trax Music Bash – 09/18/2021
Moved location again to the west end of Ignition Park at Sample/Chapin due to
expected construction within the next few months. Dan Buckenmeyer w/ RDC spoke
on the city’s behalf that he believes they would approve Doug to use land for event,
their meeting will be taking place in the next two weeks. Requesting that Ignition Dr.
to be closed off from Sample to Cotter. It was also suggested that the parking lot at
Garst and Franklin also be closed off to the public. After several meetings, the
committee feels like this location is best suited for this event. We will await
response/approval from the redevelopment committee. We will continue to work
with Doug as event approaches to make sure everything is lined up as well as
monitor COVID cases.
Upon a motion by Villa and seconded by Jones the permit was approved unanimously

With no additional business, Villa motioned for adjournment and Shipley
seconded. The meeting ended at 10:19 AM.
