AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE,
AND ESTABLISHING AN HISTORIC LANDMARK FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 713 W. LaSalle , IN THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend
and St . Joseph County has petitioned for the designation of the
following described real estate as an Historic Landmark under
Ordinance No. 5565-73, as amended, to wit :
Lot Numbered Five (5) and the East Two and One-half
(2 1/2) feet of Lot Numbered Six (6) all in Christopher
Kuppler's Subdivision and Replat of Lots Numbered 1 , 2,
3, 4, 5, and 6 as shown on the recorded Plat of Cobb's
Subdivision of Bank Out Lot Numbered Twenty-eight (28)
of the First Platted by the State of Bank of Indiana.
The improvements located upon said land can be commonly
described as 713 W. LaSalle hereinafter referred to as
the "PROPERTY. "
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend
and St . Joseph County has recommended the designation of the
PROPERTY as an Historic Landmark .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION 1 .
That the above described PROPERTY be , and it is hereby
designated and established as an Historic Landmark under
Ordinance No. 5565-73, as amended.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council , approval by the
Mayor and legal publication .

Dear Honorable Council Members:
Attached please find a proposed amendment to the City of South Bend's
Zoning Ordinance. The purpose of the amendments is to designate the
Woolman Residence located at 620 W. LaSalle, South Bend and the Neitzel
Residence at 713 W. LaSalle, South Bend as Historic Landmarks.
At its December 3, 1987 meeting, the Historic Preservation Commission
moved to send to the Common Council a favorable recommendation to designate
both of these houses as Historic Landmarks.
We would appreciate your favorable consideration of this matter.

The Staff of the Area Plan Commission has reviewed the Historic Preservation
Commission's proposed designation of the above property as an historic
landmark.
We find no proposed improvements that will conflict with this structure;
and, therefore, we return a favorable recommendation to the Historic
Preservation Commission and the Common Council .
