AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $ 78, 186. 00
AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS. WITHIN THE
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of
Community Development Block Grant Funds and that the immediate
needs of specific activities are met,, additional appropriations
among accounts are necessary. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. Additional 1988 Community Development Block Grant
Entitlement Funds in the amount of $78, 186. 00 are hereby
appropriated and allocated among accounts as set forth below..
CD88-609 Monroe Park Development $ 38, 186
CD88-302 Ko-Op 65 10,000
CD88-102 Housing Fund 30, 000
$ 78, 186
SECTION II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended for
any activities in this ordinance prior to an official release of
funds received from the United States Department of Housing and
Urban Development as may be required.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approved by
the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will
appropriate additional CDBG entitlement funds anticipated. The
appropriation will accomplish the following:
1. ) Adds $38, 186 to the Monroe Park Development fund requested
under a recent transfer bill. All activities will be
within the Monroe Park Area.
2. ) Provides $10,000 for rehab assistance for Ko-Op 65 's
building. Ko-Op 65 provides services to the community's
elderly.
3. ) Adds $30,000 to the Housing Fund administered by the
Housing Development Corporation to assist in low/mod
income housing projects.
