AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $6, 250. 00 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT
OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING
THE EXPENSES OF THE SOUTH BEND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING SEPTEMBER
22, 1987 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 21, 1988.
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
To process housing discrimination complaints arising within the
South Bend Human Rights Commission jurisdiction and augment our fair
housing enforcement efforts by engaging in outreach, education,
training and technical assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
SECTION I . The sum of $6, 250.00 is hereby appropriated for the
year starting September 22, 1987 from HUD, to be administered by the
Human Rights Commission and distributed as set forth below:

Dear Council Members:
The South Bend Human Rights Commission is requesting the approval of
the attached ordinance appropriation to defray the expenses of
administrative cost incurred for the period of October 1, 1987
through September 30, 1988 from the work sharing federal contract
with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The dollar amount from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development is $6,250.
