COMMUNITY INVESTMENT COMMITTEE
Oversees the various activities of the Department of Community Investment. This Committee reviews all real and personal tax abatement requests and works closely with the Business Development Team. COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE Oversees the various activities of the Engagement and Economic Empowerment, Neighborhood Development, and Community Resources Teams within the City’s Department of CI and is charged with facilitating partnerships and ongoing communications with other public and private entities operating within the City.

Potawatomi Zoo, My SB Trails, DTSB relations, and the many recreational and leisure activities offered by the Department of Venues Parks and Arts.

Enclosed is an Ordinance for the proposed Special Exception Use at the above referenced location.
Please include the attached Ordinance on the Council agenda for first reading at your December 14th,
2020 Council meeting and set it for public hearing at your January 11th, 2021 Council meeting. The
petition is tentatively scheduled for public hearing at the January 4th, 2021 South Bend Board of Zoning
Appeals meeting. The recommendation of the South Bend Plan Commission will be forwarded to the
Office of the City Clerk by noon on the day following the public hearing.
The petitioner provided the following to describe the proposed project:
The owners have found a purchaser for their property who would like to operate a Convenience
Store with fuel pumps. The fuel pump portion of the project requires approval of a Special
Exception.
