Statement on the Passage of Resolution 4882-21:
A Resolution Approving the Director of the Community Policy Review Office Job Description
Today City Clerk Dawn Jones and the Office of the City Clerk staff pause to recognize the hard work and dedication of the City of South Bend’s community leaders and activists.
Following countless hours of research and deliberation, last night the City of South Bend took its
first step towards the successful implementation of the South Bend Community Police Review
Board with the passage of Resolution 4882-21. The Office of the City Clerk is taking immediate action to begin searching and screening candidates for the position of Director of the Community Police Review Office.
City Clerk Dawn Jones and the Office of the City Clerk staff recognize that the path to successful
implementation will be hard, requiring compromise, collaboration, and deliberate and sustained engagement with community stakeholders. By continuing to champion transparency, the Office of the City Clerk will ensure that all of South Bend’s voices are heard.
City Clerk Dawn Jones embraces the trust and confidence place in her and the Office of the City
Clerk staff by the South Bend Common Council and City Administration and will continue to lead Community Police Review Board implementation efforts guided by the City Clerk’s values of Integrity, Service, and Accessibility which will remain at the forefront of all decisions.
