AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $55,223
AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE
DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of
Community Development Block Grant Funds and that the immediate
needs of specific activities are met, transfers among accounts are
necessary.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
Section I. The sum of $55,223 is hereby transferred among
accounts as set forth below.
Reduce the following accounts:

CD87-604 Business and Technology Center $ 3,000
CD88-201 Code Enforcement Mgmt. & Inspection 40, 000
CD88-609 Monroe Park Development 1,990
1988 Program Income 10,233
TOTAL $55,223
Increase the following accounts:

CD88-203 Neighborhood Clean-up Crew 40, 000

CD88-1100. 3 Historic Pres.-Survey Records Mgt. 3 , 000

Section II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended for
any of the activities in this ordinance prior to an official
release of funds received from the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development as may be required.
Section III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approved by
the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will transfer
$55, 223 among CD accounts. The transfers will accomplish the
following: ,
1 . Provide $3 , 000 to match funds for Historic Preservation' s
survey records management program.
2. Transfer funds from Code Enforcement's Management and Inspection
program to its Clean-up Crew to allow for an increased effort
in this summer' s clean-up efforts.
3. Transfer funds between years for the Monroe Park activities.
We transferred too much out of this account in an earlier
ordinance.
4 . Allows use of funds reimbursed for the Studebaker Corridor
study for other activities in the area.
