AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE
PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE CENTURY
CENTER FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1989 AND
ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1989 INCLUDING ALL OUTSTANDING
CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN
THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
It is necessary to pass this Ordinance in order to appropriate
monies to defray the expenses of Century Center of the City of South
Bend, Indiana for 1989.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . For the expenses of Century Center for the fiscal
year ending December 31, 1989, the following sums of money, as set
forth in the attached budget which is made a part hereof, are hereby
appropriated and ordered set apart out of the funds hereinafter
named, and for the purposes hereinafter specified, subject to the
laws governing the same. The sums herein appropriated shall be
deemed to include all expenditures authorized to be made in said
year, unless otherwise expressly stipulated or provided by the law.
SECTION II. For the fiscal year ending December 31, 1989, the
above appropriations are hereby made from Funds of said City to the
Century Center Fund.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

Dear President Voorde:
Enclosed you will find the 1989 proposed budget for the Century
Center Fund. This budget is being filed for first reading at the
October 24, 1988 Council meeting with passage proposed for the
November 14, 1988 meeting.
I will assume the Council will set a committee hearing sometime
between the first and second reading.
