ORDINANCE NO. 1 et3(,-3£8 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $100,000.00 FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR TO THE NON-REVERTING EAST BANK TRAIL FUND 402 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The Board of Park Commissioners of the City of South Bend, Indiana applied for and received $100,000.00 grant from the United States Department of the Interior (Land and Water Conservation Fund) to help finance the construction of the East Bank Trail which consists of acquiring land, grading, excavating, landscaping, paving, walkways, benches and lighting. The grant will reimburse the City for funds spent from the $111 ,949.00 East Bank Trail Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The sum of $100,000.00 is hereby appropriated from funds received from the United States Department of the Interior to the East Bank Trail Fund. SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full furce and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council , its approval by the Mayor and the approval by the State Board of Tax Commissioners. - • 1 ember of the Common Council `SpUTN . Jefferson Blvd. South Bend, Indiana 46601 Dear Members of the Common Council : The Department of Public Parks is requesting that One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) be appropriated from the United States Department of the Interior (Land and Water Conservation Fund) to the non-reverting East Bank Trail Fund. The acquiring of land is now complete and the construction phase of the East Bank Trail is about to begin. The grant of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) will reimburse the City from funds spent from the One Hundred Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred Forty Nine Dollars ($111 ,949.00) East Bank Trail Fund.
