AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $9,000. 00 FROM
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT
R&S 8903, MIAMI/CALVERT INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTS, WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and to
provide for safe and efficient movement of vehicles, certain
improvements are necessary at the intersection of Miami Street and
Calvert Street within the City of South Bend.
Funds are now needed for the cost of engineering for this
project. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street
Fund.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart from the Local Road and Street Fund for the
project in the amount set forth below:

Intersection Improvements
Total Project $9, 000. 00
Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor.

The attached is a proposed ordinance requesting an appropriation
of $9, 000. 00 from the Local Road and Street Fund,for Project
8903, Miami/Calvert Intersection Improvements. This project
entails the design of upgraded signals for this intersection.
The unobligated balance in this fund after this appropriation is
$649,998.45.
Your favorable consideration is requested on this proposed
