AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $23,515. 36 FROM
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT
R & S 8902, RAILROAD CROSSINGS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In the best interest of public safety, it is necessary to
improve railroad crossings at various locations within the City of
South Bend. Funds are now needed for the cost of construction on
this project. These funds are available from the Local Road and
Street Fund.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart from the Local Road and Street Fund for the
project in the amount set forth below:

Total Project $ 23,515. 36
Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor.

Members of the Common Council:
The attached is a proposed ordinance requesting an appropriation
of $ 23 ,515.36 from the Local Road and Street Fund for Project
R&S 8902, Rail Road Crossing Improvements. These funds will
provide the City's 10% share of railroad crossing work completed
at the following locations:
1. 1400 SO. OLIVE (NORFOLK & SOUTHERN)
2 . FORD ST. (CONRAIL & G.T.W. R.R. )
3 . WALNUT (CONRAIL & G.T.W.R.R. )
The unobligated balance in the Local Road and Street Fund after
this appropriation is $658,998.45.
