referenced quotation to you in the amount of $148,787.50.
Please forward the following documents in one submittal by January 7, 2021 to my attention
for Board of Public Works approval to lhensley@southbendin.gov:
1) One (1) signed original of the Contract (enclosed); and
2) Certificate of Insurance naming the City of South Bend as an additional insured.

DATE: December 7, 2020
On July 14, 2020 the Board of Public Works was scheduled to open and read bids for the subject
project. Six contractors were solicited for quotes. No quotes were received.
The Board of Public Works granted permission for the Division of Engineering and Division of
Utilities to go the open market for quotations for the work. Two contractors submitted open market
quotations for consideration.
Open Market Quotes ranked as follows based on price:

The Division of Engineering recommends the award of the Base Quotation for Project No. 120-
042 CSO 35 Throttle Pipe Replacement to Selge Construction Company, Inc. for the total base
quotation of $148,787.50. Unit pricing as described in the Contractor’s Bid Proposal was
provided with the quotation. Adjustments to final quantities will be evaluated during
construction.
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2021.
Funding: Public Works, Sewage Works, Sewage Works Operations, Wastewater, Services &
Charges-Other-Other Contractual Services Account 641-06-605-514-439001.

PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 17th Day of December, 2020, by and between,
Selge Construction Co., Inc., 2833 South 11th. St., Niles, MI 49120, HEREINAFTER called the
Contractor, and the Board of Public Works herein called the "Board".
WITNESSETH: That the Contractor covenants and agrees to make the following improvement,
as fully set out in the Request for Quotations, Standard Specifications, Special Provisions, Plans,
and Bid Proposals, all of which are set forth as a part of this Contract, for:
PROJECT NO. 120-042
DESCRIPTION: CSO 035 THROTTLE PIPE REPLACEMENT
COMPLETION DATE: SEE SPECIFICATIONS
AMOUNT: $148,787.50
FUNDING: PR-00002053
The unit prices for this improvement were those prices as received and accepted by the Board on
the 14th Day of July, 2020.
The Contractor further agrees to notify the Engineer when this improvement is completed. This
notification shall be in the form of a Completion Affidavit, signed by the Contractor. Upon final
acceptance of the improvement by the Engineer, the Contractors final estimate will be presented
to the Board for final Payment with one (1) copy of the Completion Affidavit and one (1) copy of
a Waiver of Lien.
