AN ORDINANCE OF THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL
APPROPRIATING $10,000 FROM THE SOUTH BEND HAZ-MAT
FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Common Council believes that it is in the best interest of
public health, safety and welfare that $10,000 be appropriated from
the South Bend Haz-Mat Fund for the purchase of two encapsulated
suits to be used by the Haz-Mat Team.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $10,000 is hereby appropriated from the
Haz-Mat Fund, Fund No. 289, to be used by the Fire Department for the
purchase of encapsulated suits for use by Haz-Mat Team members.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Honorable Council Members :
The attached bill i.srequesting an appropriation in the amount
of $10,000. 00 from the Hazardous Materials Fund (#289) .
The Haz/Mat Team is in need of 2 totally encapsulated suits .
The purchase of these 2 suits will allow Team members to
perform their duties at a safer risk involving hazardous
chemicals.
Sufficient funds are available in this fund. The current
balance is aproximately $12 ,000.00.
