Dear Tom:
Attached please find an Ordinance appropriating funds from the
Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund. The purpose of this Ordinance
. is to appropriate money for the municipal services facility.
Additionally, prior to the September 24, 1990 Council meeting we will
be filing the following two Resolutions:
(1) A Resolution authorizing the temporary transfer of idle
funds of the City of South Bend, Indiana from various funds to
various funds within the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana.
(2) A Resolution approving the purchase of real property.
It will be necessary to place these two Resolutions under the
"special business" portion of the Council agenda. We are requesting
this in order to have all relevant actions occur on the same evening.
Prior to this meeting, there will also be an informal Council meeting
where we can discuss this proposal in greater detail.
We are pleased at the prospect of acquiring the National Mill
Building. As you know, we have had numerous problems with the
current facility and have been evaluating alternatives for space to
accommodate the operation. I will be happy to answer any questions
you or other members of the council may have.
Sincerely,
I'
