GAMMON Approved and signed by me September 4 z 90 i(:7444- • Mayor ORDINANCE NO. rigi'Q(J AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING REVENUE TO MEET THE NECESSARY EXPENSES OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1991. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: It is necessary to pass this Ordinance in order to levy taxes and fix the rate of taxation for the purpose of raising revenue to meet the necessary expenses for 1991. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. There shall be levied upon each One Hundred Dollars of Assessed Valuation of Taxable Property of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year 1990 to be collected in the year 1991 the following: For CORPORATION GENERAL FUND, the sum of 5.9074 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For PARK MAINTENANCE FUND, the sum of .9948 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND, the sum of .1216 dollars. on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For POLICEMEN' S PENSION FUND, the sum of .2555 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM FUND, the sum of .0516 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For PARK DISTRICT BOND FUND, the sum of .0872 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property, For URBAN RENEWAL BOND FUND, the sum of . 0412 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For DISCOVERY HALL FUND, the sum of . 0377 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For CUMULATIVE CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FUND, the sum of .2011 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For JUNK VEHICLE FUND, the sum of .0036 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For UNSAFE BUILDING FUND, the sum of .0170 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT BOND FUND (STADIUM) , the sum of . 2267 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. For REDEVELOPMENT BOND (STUDEBAKER) , the sum of .1223 dollars on each one hundred dollars of Taxable Property. SECTION II . As in the past, the rates have been set artificially high to compensate for any reduction in our assessed value. They have also been advertised artificially high. This Ordinance is a companion ordinance to the Appropriation Ordinance and is part of the budget process. I will look forward to discussing the 1991 budget with you and other members of the Council.
