AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $254,385. 00 FROM THE EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND TO
DEFRAY FIRE DEPARTMENT EXPENSES
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: Monies available in the Emergency
Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund are now needed in order to
make payments due on lease-purchase agreement and to purchase
equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $254,385. 00 is hereby appropriated from
the Emergency Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund No. 288 to be
administered by the Fire Department and distributed as set forth
below:
288. 000. 16. 04399.00 Other contractuals $ 234,085.00
288. 000. 16.04429.00 Other equipment 20,300.00
TOTAL $ 254,385.00
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

Dear Tom:
Attached please find an Ordinance appropriating funds in the EMS
Capital Improvement Fund. This appropriation will allow the
emergency medical services to make annual lease payments on existing
capital leases. The equipment items include an upgraded computer
system and a new heart monitor.
I will look forward to discussing this Ordinance with the Common
Council. In the meantime, if I can answer any questions, please
