AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5,546 . 00 RECEIVED
FROM THE STATE OF INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN
SERVICES, EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT PROGRAM
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to deliver services to homeless individuals
within our community, the City of South Bend received funds from the State
of Indiana Department of Human Services for the delivery of such services
through the Council of Providers of Services to the Homeless (COPOSH) and
the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County, Inc. The funds
appropriated in this ordinance will aid in defraying the cost of providing
meals at the Center for the Homeless and at the Youth Service Bureau' s
Safe Station.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Section I . The sum of $5, 546. 00 is hereby appropriated
and allocated among accounts as set forth below:

Dear Mr. Zakrzewski:
The City of South Bend has received funds through the Emergency
Shelter Grants Program which is administered by the State of Indiana
Department of Human Services. These funds will be used to provide
services to the homeless and youth at risk in the South Bend area.
The funds will be used to defray part of the cost of providing meals
at the Center for the Homeless and at the Youth Service Bureau' s Safe
Station.
Your approval of the attached ordinance is requested.
