AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE
MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE
CALENDAR YEARS 1990, 1991 AND 1992.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Council is required by Indiana law to set the annual
compensation of all elected City officers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL,
as follows:
SECTION I : The Mayor of the City of South Bend shall be paid
from the General Fund the following annual salary for the following
calendar years:
1990: $60,667
1991: $62 ,140
1992: $64,004
SECTION II : The City Clerk shall publish this ordinance twice in
two ( 2) English language newspapers of general circulation published
in this City, the first of which publications shall be at least
thirty ( 30) days prior to the date of the final passage by the Common
Council.
SECTION III : This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

salaries for the Mayor, City Clerk, and members of the Common
Council. The salaries as proposed are consistent with recent salary
changes for non-bargaining employees. I will be happy to answer any
