AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $15,000.00
TO ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of Urban
Development Action Grant Reimbursement Funds and that the immediate needs
of specific activities are met, certain appropriations are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana:

SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will
appropriate $350,000 in Urban Development Action Grant
Reimbursement Funds to the following projects:
1. Appropriate $335, 000 to be used to acquire Parcel E 3-1,
property commonly referred to as the Opelika Building, in the
East Bank portion of the South Bend Central Development Area;
and
2. Appropriate $15, 000 for the South Bend Central Development Area
public improvements. These additional funds are necessary
based on actual construction bids received for the extension of
Seitz Park which will include off-street parking, lighting and
landscaping improvements.
