GAMMON Approved and signed by me July 3 �9 90 ryzi Mayor ORDINANCE NO. k)9 a -9 v AN ORDINANCE INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS AND ADDING APPROPRIATIONS WITHIN THE VARIOUS ACCOUNTS OF THE LOCAL ROADS AND STREETS FUND STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and to provide for safe and efficient movement of vehicles, certain improvements are needed within the City of South Bend, Indiana. Increase in project 8803 Various road improvements due to a change in the scope of services, by adding fiber optics as the method of signal interconnection on the design of the downtown signals. Increase in project 8902 Railroad Improvements to be contructed at the 1300 block Riverside Drive and the Railroad crossing at Greenlawn. New Projects consist of Engineering work to be performed for project 9001 Edison-Crestwood to S.R. 23 Phase II & III, project 9002 Ironwood/Randolph to Ireland Phase II, project 9004 Arterial Signal Moderization, and project 9005 paving and slurry for Fiscal Year 1990. Project 9003 consist of concrete pavement repairs. These funds are available from the Local Roads and Streets Fund. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from the Local Roads and Streets Fund for the projects in the amount set forth below: PROJECT NO. TITLE AMOUNT Increase the following accounts: 8803 Various Road Imrovements 19,870. 00 8902 Railroad Improvements 15, 000.00 Total increase $ 34,870.00 Add the following accounts: 9001 Edison-Crestwood to S.R.23 101,510.00 9002 Ironwood/Randolph to Ireland Phase II 98,907.00 9003 Fy90 Pavement Repairs 100,000. 00 9004 Arterial Signal Moderization 150,000.00 9005 Paving & Slurry 460,000. 00 Total new projects 910,417.00 Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. • v. \\\ ;,,!'o% City of South Bend //, �?. `; ,�).a Joseph E. The primary purpose of this appropriation is to appropriate necessary funds to various accounts within the Local Roads and Streets Fund. The total necessary appropriation is $945 , 287 . 00. The projected unobligated balance in the Local Road and Street Fund after this appropriation is $32 , 730 .51 . Your favorable consideration of this proposed ordinance is requested.
