AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING
MONIES FROM THE MORRIS CIVIC CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT FUND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Common. Council has determined that it is necessary to
appropriate certain funds in the Morris Civic Capital Improvement
Fund in order to pay for architectural design work for the renovation.
and restoration of the Morris Civic Complex.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I : That the following funds shall be and hereby are
appropriated from the following accounts within the Morris Civic
Capital Improvement Funds:
MORRIS CIVIC CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND
Account Number: Description Amount:
416-0404-453-3106 Other Professional Services $300,000.00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.

Dear President Niezgodski:
Please find attached a copy of the Ordinance requesting an
appropriation from the Morris Civic Capital Improvement Fund. As you
recall from an earlier informal meeting with the Council, the funding
to be appropriated is the City' s contribution to the Morris Civic
Improvement project. An RFP for the architectural work was issued in
December. The proposals were reviewed and SMSQ from Northfield,
Minnesota was selected to be the lead architect. Tom Kenrick with
BKLC was selected as the local architect.
I respectfully submit this appropriation Ordinance for your
consideration and approval. I will look forward to discussing the
plans for the project with you and other members of the Council. In.
the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to
call.
