Kernan, Mayor Office of the Mayor September 9, 1991 Mr. Don Niezgodski, President Common Council 4th Floor, County-City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Dear President Niezgodski: The attached ordinance proposes a change in the salary for the Building Commissioner. This change is recommended as a result of expanded responsibilities resulting from the consolidation of the County and City Building Departments. I believe the proposed salary to be more in line with increased responsibilities. As I have already discussed with the Council, the consolidation will have a positive impact on both the service to the public as well as the budget. I appreciate your consideration of this ordinance. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me. Sincerely, /seph E.
