Re: Coveleski Stadium Fund Ordinance
Dear Don:
I am submitting for review by the Common Council an Ordinance
appropriating $15,000.00 from the Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium
Fund to allow for an upgrade of our transformer at Coveleski Stadium.
We currently have a 225 KVA transformer on site. During the course
of the season, we have had to supplement this transformer due to the
fact that a large demand has been placed upon the electrical system
at the Stadium due to weather conditions, large attendance requiring
that all concession stands be available, and television coverage. It
is contemplated that for next season the Stadium Club area will be
utilized which will also make additional demands upon the Stadium.
Finally, the transformer is now in its fifth year and is in need of
maintenance.
We propose with this appropriation to install a 300 KVA
transformer and a supplemental 75 KVA transformer to meet and exceed
any additional electrical demands that are made at the Stadium. The
current 225 KVA transformer will remain on site and will be used for
emergency and/or future upgrades of the Stadium. This proposal has
been reviewed by the Stadium engineers and architects and we are in
agreement that this step is needed and is a prudent course of action
to take at this time.
