2005 South Bend Common Council
The June 13, 2005 joint meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee and the Health
and Public Safety Committee was called to order by Personnel and Finance Committee
Chairperson, Council Member Roland Kelly at 5:17 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Pfeifer, Kelly, Puzzello, Dieter,
Varner, Kuspa, White and Rouse; City Clerk John Voorde, Rita Kopola, Martha Lewis, and
Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney.
Council Member Kelly stated that the only item to come before the joint committee
meeting was Bill No. 05-73 which would appoint an agent/negotiator to represent the Common
Council and address an Advisory City Negotiating Team for the 2005 Fire and Police
Department negotiations.
Council President Pfeifer stated that the resolution needs to be acted upon officially
tonight by the Council.
Council Member White made a motion seconded by Council Member Kuspa that Bill
No. 05-73 be recommended favorably to the Common Council. The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the joint committee meeting, Council
Member Kelly adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p.m.
