2005 South Bend Common Council
The August 8, 2005 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order by its
Chairperson, Council Member Roland Kelly at 4:12 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting
Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Dieter, Pfeifer, P»zzello, Kelly, Varner,
Kuspa, Kirsits and Rouse; Citizen Member Martha Lewis, Rita Kopala, Brad Poulan, Executive
Director of the Department of Community and Economic Development Sharon Kendall, Tim
Williams, City Clerk John Voorde and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney.
Council Member Kelly noted that the Committee Members present included Council Members
Varner,Kuspa,and himself as Chairperson.
Council Member Kelly then called for a presentation on Bill No. 44-05 which would approve
rates to be charged at municipally owned or operated parking lots.
Tim Williams of the Community & Economic Development staff made the presentation. He
noted that the Board of Public Works approved a resolution in July which would set fees at$3.25
for the lot at 225 South Main and $5.00 per day for the lot at 121 South St. Joseph Street. He
asked for Council approval.
Council Member Kuspa made a motion, seconded by Dr. Varner that Bill No. 44-05 be
recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Personnel and Finance Committee, Council
Member Kelly adjourned the meeting at 4:17 p.m.
