AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $56,000.00 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT
OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE
EXPENSES OF THE SOUTH BEND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 22, 1991 AND
ENDING SEPTEMBER 21, 1992.
Statement of Purpose and Intent
It is necessary to appropriate the $56,000.00 provided to the
South Bend Human Rights Commission by the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under contract with the
Commission to process housing discrimination complaints arising
within the South Bend Human Rights Commission jurisdiction and
augment our fair housing enforcement efforts by engaging in
outreach, education, training and technical assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
Section I.
The sum of $56,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year
starting September 22, 1991 from HUD, to be administered by the
Human Rights Commission and distributed as set forth below:
Purpose Amount
Case Processing $12,000.00
Instruction and Training 4,000.00
Incentive Funding 40,000.00
$56,000.00
Section II.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage by the Common Council and approved by the Mayor.
