AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $48,000 WITHIN THE COUNTY OPTION INCOME TAX
FUND (FUND 404) FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR
THE COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of County Option Income Tax Funds and to
further the implementation of the Commercial Corridor Program within the City, certain
appropriations are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $48,000 is hereby appropriated within Fund 404 for the calendar year
2003 to implement the Commercial Corridors Program within the City of South Bend.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Council Members:
The attached ordinance for your consideration and approval will appropriate $48,000 of County
Option Income Tax funds for the Lincoln Way West Commercial Corridor Program. These funds
have been generated by the sale of a portion of the old Bullseye Liquor lotto the Teachers Credit
Union. The requested funding will be used for continued property acquisition, demolition, and
redevelopment activities on the Lincoln Way West Corridor.
