Specifics:
Update #1
In April 2017, the Redevelopment Commission approved $2.7 million to fund the initial build
out of the Technology Resource Center. As part of the Lily Endowment’s LIFT Grant to our
region, the city received another $500K that will be used to support educational programming
and workforce training tied to the TRC. Initial programming located at the TRC this past winter
(and then remotely this spring), was a Data Analytics Bootcamp to help local workers skill up for
local entry level programming and data jobs. 30 participants completed these programs in the
past year, and we have completed reporting back to the Lily Endowment for those programs.
Update #2
In compliance with Section 14 of the Pokagon Band – City of South Bend Local Agreement,
the Pokagon Band made its 2020 Payment In Lieu of Taxes to the City and to the South Bend
Redevelopment Commission by bank wire transfer on September 29,2020. Due to
accommodations made for the health and economic crises, payment will be $949,511, in
accordance with the calculations specified in the Local Agreement.
