The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center at 1522 W. Linden St. A number of local animal welfare organizations will host a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic to assist pet owners with affordable services. The event will offer micro chipping, rabies and distemper vaccinations for$5 apiece. There will also be information on low cost spay/neuter services available at the event. The following sponsors of the of the event include South Bend Animal Care and Control, Heartland Small Animal Rescue, Pet Refuge, CARE of South Bend, Casa Del Toro, The Humane Society of the United States and Linda's Camp K9. The South Bend Animal Care & Control Office and Community Animal Rescue Effort of South Bend also acknowledge the support of the doctors and staff at Kryder Veterinary Clinic and University Park Veterinary Hospital for volunteering their time and efforts for the event. For participation, all dogs must be on a leash and all cats in a carrier. This is a cash only event. No checks or credit cards will be accepted.
