Dear Councilmen:
The Department of Public Works is requesting your favorable
consideration of the attached ordinance appropriating funds from
the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund to various projects .
The first project is the widening of Edison Road from
Crestwood to S.R. 23 , including the construction of storm sewers .
Traffic demands have necessitated these improvements. The $525 ,000
represents 20% of construction costs . The remaining 80% is being
provided by the Federal Highway Transportation Fund.
Project #9002 is a construction of the Ironwood Widening and
Storm-Sanitary Sewer Project from Ireland to Ewing. These funds
will continue the design and begin right-of-way acquisition near
Ireland Road.
Funds for Project #9103 of $20 ,000 is to cover cost overruns
in the current project. More storm inlets were determined to be
needed at the Corby/South Bend Avenue intersection necessitating
this change .
The fourth project is to begin design of the Widening of Miami
Road from Kern to Jackson. Several new subdivisions are requiring
that Miami Road be widened to handle the increased traffic.
