The necessary plan information and standard details along with construction specifications will be added to the previously mentioned St. Joseph River Bank Stabilization design plans and specifications. Work related to guardrail design will be completed at the fixed fee price stated below. Design and Bid Documents 1.Cardno will complete design of up to 700 feet of INDOT guardrail along North Shore Drive to encompass the entirety of the North Shore Bank Stabilization project (325') currently being developed by Cardno and the previously installed 100' of rock bank stabilization immediately adjacent to the east. With the two previous bank stabilization areas identified as area of concern (hazard) measuring 425', a total length of approximately 685' of guardrail is anticipated with a 130' runout length required on either end of the hazard. Based on utility locates and existing site survey, Cardno assumes that the guardrail will terminate prior to the gas line indicated east of the project areas and no utility relocation will be required. It is also assumed that relocation of the overhead power and associated light poles will be performed by others prior to any construction of guardrail. Based on existing site survey, Cardno also assumes that the minimum 2'6" embankment width behind the post is available and therefore would not require INDOT review and approval which comes with detail modification. Cardno will amend the North Shore Bank Stabilization design plans and specifications with the addition of the INDOT guardrail. Cardno will review the INDOT standard drawings (Drawing Series E 601), previously approved and stamped by INDOT engineers, to confirm existing conditions along North Shore Drive support minimum requirements of INDOT. Cardno will review and amend INDOT standard specifications (Section 601) for guardrail to fit the existing conditions and specific construction considerations required along North Shore Drive. Assuming that INDOT standard drawings and specifications are utilized in this guardrail design process, Cardno does not anticipate INDOT review being required and this review is not reflected in the below fixed fee amount. Should INDOT review be required, Cardno reserves the right to negotiate this scope change with the Client. This fixed fee amount does reflect time for the City of South Bend's internal review process. DELIVERABLES 1.
