members of the Common Council at zero percent (0%) . If approved, this

AN ORDLANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE COMMON COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR
CALENDAR YEAR 2021
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The South Bend Common Council is required to fix the annual compensation of elected city officers.
Indiana Code § 36-4-7-2 authorizes the legislative body to carry out these responsibilities.
This ordinance proposes a zero percent (0%) maximum increase for calendar year 2021 for the nine -
member Common Council.
Now, Therefore it be ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
Section 1. The maximum salaries for the members of the South Bend Common Council for the 2021
calendar year shall be established as follows, which reflects a maximum 0% increase over the 2020
maximum rate:

2021
$ 20,195
Section It. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common
Council, approval by the Mayor and legal publication.
