Get Out to Vote Community Rally
Dear Community Partners:
South Bend Common Councilmember Sharon L. McBride is hosting a “Get Out to
Vote Community Rally,” an all-white attire gathering designed to promote bipartisan
civic engagement, voter registration and voter education. Regardless of your political
affiliation, you have a civic duty to exercise your right to vote!
In addition to promoting civic engagement, this event will provide $100 food vouchers
to families in our community who are facing food insecurities during these very
challenging times. The goal is to raise $25,000 in sponsorship dollars so that 250
families would be served.
Please pledge a sponsorship so that we can secure the food vouchers. Checks can
be made payable to Martin’s Supermarket or Food Bank of Northern Michiana.
Please send the checks directly to Councilmember Sharon L. McBride as she is
working directly with Corporate to track the vouchers and recipients. You can
mail the checks to her address at 415 E. Broadway Street, South Bend, Indiana
46601, or she has made herself available to pick them up at your convenience.
The Community Rally will take place Friday, September 4, 2020, at Howard Park from
5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. There will be entertainment, food trucks and a cash bar. The
Venues, Parks & Arts Department will design social distancing markers, and masks are
required to be worn by all attendees. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity
to register to vote.
We are very excited about this collaboration with our community partners and look
forward to these alliances growing in the future. If you have additional questions,
