SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
July 21, 2020, 10:00 AM

Members present: Brad Rohrscheib Toy Villa, Gerard Ellis, Darwin Shipley, Jonathon
Jones
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:57 AM by President Rohrscheib.
2. Approval of minutes
Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the minutes from the previous
meeting July 7th was approved unanimously
3. Approval of Special Event Permits
a. August First Fridays – August 7th
Requesting to close Michigan from E. Jefferson to E. Wayne from 3:00 PM to 10:00
PM. T/L will drop off jersey barricades to block it off. DTSB ambassadors to assist with
closure. No construction issues.
Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Shipley the permit was approved
unanimously
Block Parties –
a. Pershing: Brookfield to Portage 8/15
Requesting closure from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, signatures were obtained from
neighbors. No issues from committee with event. T/L will pick drop off cones at the
applicants address on Friday afternoon and pick them up on Monday morning.
Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the permit was approved
unanimously

b. Haney: Fellows to Columbia 8/15
Requesting closure from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, signatures were obtained from
neighbors. No issues with this event. T/L will drop cones off at the applicants address
on Friday afternoon and pick them up on Monday morning.
Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the permit was approved
unanimously
4. Other Business –
a. Bacon Around the Bend – Has cancelled the race and decided to go virtual.
1. Privilege of the Floor – None
2. Adjournment
With no additional business, Rohrscheib motioned for adjournment and Jones
seconded. The meeting ended at 10:20 AM.
