AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, APPROPRIATING THE PROCEEDS DERIVED FROM THE INDIANA
DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,050,000 WITHIN THE STATE
GRANTS FUND (FUND210) FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING THE DEVELOPMENT
COSTS CONNECTED WITH THE TJX/AJ WRIGHT DISTRIBUTION CENTER PROJECT
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
The City of South Bend, Indiana, has previously agreed to offer certain assistance to The
TJX Companies, Inc., the developer of the South Bend AJ Wright Distribution Center project at
1902 West Sample Street. The assistance included in the Indiana Department of Commerce
Infrastructure Grant is specifically targeted for site preparation, utility relocation and
infrastructure development improvements.
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization of the grant from the State of Indiana
certain appropriations from State Grants Fund #210 are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, as follows:
Section I. The sum of $1,050,000 from proceeds derived from the Indiana Development
Grant Fund is hereby appropriated within Fund 210 for site development expenses at the TJX/AJ
Wright development site.
Section II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by
the Common Council and approval by the Mayor:

The TJX Companies - IDGF Funds
Dear Ms. White:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will appropriate $1,050,000 of funds from
the Indiana Development Grant Fund which were awarded to the City of South Bend for the
redevelopment costs of the TJX/AJ Wright Distribution Center Project. The funds will be
deposited into the State Grant Fund (Fund 210).
