"n Executive Session of the South Bend Common Council
2012
The October 3, 2012 Executive Session of the South Bend Common Council was called to order
by Council President Derek D. Dieter at 4:01 p.m. in the Council's Informal Meeting Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Tim Scott, Henry Davis, Jr., Dr. Fred Ferlic,
Valerie Schey, Oliver J. Davis, Derek Dieter, Gavin Ferlic, Dr. Dave Varner, and Karen K.
White, City Controller Mark Neal, Interim Police Chief Charles Hurley,Police Uniform Division
Chief Jeffery Walters, Board of Public Safety President Patrick Cottrel, Ed Sullivan, and South
Bend Common Council's Agent Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
The Executive Session was called pursuant to the September 27, 2012, Notice of Executive
Session for the purpose of discussing strategy with respect to collective bargaining relative to
public safety employees pursuant to Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b)(2)(A) (copy attached)
This is to certify that the only subject matter discussed at this Executive Session was that
contained in the September 27, 2012 "Notice of Executive Session".
Council President Dieter adjourned the Executive Session at 5:15 p.m.

6.1(b)(2)(A)and shall be held for the discussion of strategy with regard to
Fred Ferlic collective bargaining relative to sworn members of the South Bend Police
Fourth District Department.
