Purpose of Request:
Budget request for continuation of United Way – City of South Bend Collaborative program that
seeks to increase the number of affordable, high-quality childcare slots in the City of South Bend.
2019-2020 program was successful, and will be continued at the same funding leve l ($100k) for
2020-2021, in alignment of the original appropriation by this board last fall. Contract is still
being finalized, but the program description (below) from 2019 -2020 will be consistent for 2020-
2021
