Lafayette Blvd, South Bend, IN 46601 Members present: Brad Rohrscheib Toy Villa, Gerard Ellis, Darwin Shipley, Jonathon Jones 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 10:00 AM by President Rohrscheib. 2. Approval of minutes Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the minutes from the previous meeting June 16th was approved unanimously 3. Approval of Special Event Permits a. Best Wednesday Ever – August 5th No street closure requested. Requesting, no parking signs and/or curb side pick up on the South curb line of Western Ave. from Chico’s Restaurant to Harrison School. There are about 30 parking spaces available for street parking but wish to close those at 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with no parking so that those restaurants can participate with the event. Food trucks will be stationed inside the Harrison School parking lot. Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Jones the permit was approved unanimously 4. Other Business – a. Ruck March fee waived, deemed as a city sponsored event. Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Villa the permit was approved unanimously Page | 2 b. After approving Best First Fridays June 16th, VPA decided they want to close the Colfax bridge as well from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM for viewing purposes of fireworks. With county’s approval, the committee sees no issue. Upon a motion by Rohrscheib and seconded by Shipley the permit was approved unanimously c. Bacon Around the Bend – Revisiting this route, still waiting on an update with construction. Toy checking on. Coming up with an alternative route and will discuss at next meeting on July 21st. 1. Privilege of the Floor – None 2. Adjournment With no additional business, Rohrscheib motioned for adjournment and Shipley seconded. The meeting ended at 10:28 AM.
