AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROPRIATING $16,360.00
FROM THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FUND
(EMS FUND #289)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has become necessary to
defray expenses within the Hazardous Materials budget with an
appropriation of Sixteen Thousand Three Hundred. Sixty- Dollars
( $16,360. 00) from Fund #289, the Hazardous. Materials. Fund. This
appropriation is intended to cover the capital costs set forth herein
below. This appropriation has been included in the Department' s
projections, as well as its five year capital improvement plan. The
Common Council had determinel that it is in the best interests of the
City that sums sufficient to meet these payments be appropriated
within the Hazardous Materials. Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT ORDAINED BY THEN COMMON COUNCIL OF. THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND AS FOLLOWS:
Section I . That the indicated sum of money be., and hereby is,
appropriated and ordered set apart within the. Hazardous Materials
Fund, as set forth below:

Dear Council Members :
The South Bend Fire Department , over the years, has developed a
Hazardous Materials Response Team to cover incidents involving
hazardous materials .
The City Council has approved a dedicated fund entitled Haz/Mat
Fund #289 to fund capital purchases for the team.
Attached is an ordinance that will appropriate $16, 360. 00 to
support the following:
2 Trellerborg wo/flash suits @$4, 400 $8, 800. 00
8 OverPak Barrells @ $100. 00 800 . 00
6 4500 PSI Air Bottles @ $710. 00 4, 260. 00
Operating Budget 2 , 500. 00
TOTAL $16, 360. 00
The funds are available to cover this appropriation as described
