Approval of Minutes • Approval of Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Thursday, May 28, 2020 Upon a motion by Secretary Phillips, seconded by Vice-President Inks, the motion carried unanimously, the Commission approved the minutes of the regular meeting of Thursday, June 11, 2020. 3. Approval of Claims • Ratified Claims June 11, 2020 Upon a motion by Commissioner Jake Teshka, seconded by Secretary Phillips, the motion carried unanimously, the Commission approved the ratified claims submitted on Thursday, June 11, 2020. 4. Old Business 5. New Business A. River West Development Area 1. Agreement to Buy and Sell Real Estate (603 Marion) Mr. Relos presented an Agreement to Buy and Sell Real Estate (603 Marion). This is a target area where Marion comes out to Lincoln Way West. This is the Northwest corner of Leland and Marion just north of Lincolnway West. The City owns all the property on that island and several adjacent lots. Andrew Netter in the Department of Community Investment office has done a great job obtaining these parcels. In February the Commission approved a Resolution that declared the parcel vacant and blighted as it is severely overgrown. This allowed us to move forward with the acquisition. The price for the parcel is $1,000. Commission approval is requested. Upon a motion by Commissioner Teshka, seconded by Secretary Phillips, the motion carried unanimously, the Commission approved Agreement to Buy and Sell Real Estate (603 Marion) submitted on Thursday, June 11, 2020. B. River West Development Area 1. Resolution No. 3519 (Determing Tax Increment to be Collected in Year 2021 Incl Douglas Road) Mr. Relos presented Resolution No. 3519 (Determing Tax Increment to be Collected in Year 2021 Incl Douglas Road). Annually the Commission is required by state statue to determine whether it is going to collect taxes in their areas. This notice will confirm we are capturing tax including Douglas Road for updates in the areas. Commission approval is requested. South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting – June 11, 2020 Upon a motion by Commissioner Teshka, seconded by Secretary Phillips, the motion carried unanimously, the Commission approved Resolution No. 3519 (Determing Tax Increment to be Collected in Year 2021 Incl Douglas Road) submitted on Thursday, June 11, 2020. 6. Progress Reports A. Tax Abatement 1. Mr. Buckenmeyer stated that final approval on tax abatements were approved at the last City Council Meeting for Midwest Family Broadcasting at 316 E Monroe. The City will be taking action to purchase the adjacent lot in the next few weeks. Baymar Plastics received a personal property abatement to put in product lines. B. Common Council C. Other 7.
