Federal Mogul is a metal finisher under categorical standards. It has been regulated under 40 CFR 433.15 as an "existing source." Due to addition of process lines, they are now regulated under 40 CFR 433.17 as a "new source." Federal Mogul's requirements were reviewed for necessary changes to ensure the industry permit remains legally substantiated. After review of requirements and historical data, pollutant limitations and monitoring frequencies for select parameters have been adjusted and the required class of wastewater operator has been updated. Otherwise, there have been no significant changes to the permit. If you should have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at (574) 235-5852, or at ltrapp@southbendin.gov. Please let me know if I need to attend the Board Meeting to present this permit.
